Klaus Beetz at Boom

Meet the remarkable Klaus Beetz. Following his career at Siemens, he became the CEO tasked with launching the EU’s prime support system for the manufacturing industry. At Boom, we are excited to collaborate with Klaus to help CEOs drive business growth.

Here is Klaus Beetz in his own words, in a conversation with Boom founder Dave Hertig from July 2024.

The conversation in the video recounts Klaus’ diverse career, which began in software development and later transitioned to Siemens Corporate Technology focusing on software embedded in hardware systems. With a background in mathematics and philosophy, Klaus joined Siemens at over 40 years of age. Towards the end of his professional career, Klaus became the CEO of EIT Manufacturing, part of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology, where he led a team of about 150 people across various innovation hubs in Europe. He played a pivotal role in building a widespread network involving manufacturing companies, startups, research institutes, and universities before retiring in the summer of 2023. At the beginning of the video, Boom founder Dave Hertig says that he asked Klaus to not completely retire, as – in Dave’s view – the world of CEOs cannot afford to lose Klaus’ wealth of expertise and contacts.
